I've been studying art & design at Bolton College for nearly two years now & I've started my specialism in Photography. It has been the subject that I have enjoyed the most out of all the subjects we have covered. I've wanted to do Photography for a long time & now that I've started finally doing it I've been taking every opportunity that I can to take photographs.
The work that I have submitted is a mix of the different types of photography that I am interested in. The last photograph is a piece for a news group that I work with called BoltonBANG, which is an alternative news group for the people of Bolton. I work as a photographer for them. I have also included my work from working with www.dontstayin.com, which are the club night pictures with DJ's. The editing in these pictures was done by Ian Kay, The pictures were taken by myself.
I enjoy working in night clubs as a photographer because I like taking pictures of happy people having a really good time. I aim to be a Fashion Photographer when I have finished my degree. I want to work on a magazine or with a modelling agency that specialises in alternative fashion. I am a follower of alternative fashion myself so this would be my perfect career.
I would like to come to Manchester Met because it is close to home, I spend a lot of time in Manchester already and because it has got very high rates of getting a job in your area after leaving. I've known people who have gone to this university and really enjoyed themselves whilst doing the course. I am very eager to learn & will look forward to coming to Manchester on an open day and having a look at what the university has to offer.
